Ghirardelli Chocolate

The original Ghirardelli Chocolate Company was founded in 1852,and was named after chocolatier Domenico Ghirardelli, who, after working in South America, moved to California. The company maintains it's old world charm in it's identity but newer and more exotic joints have emerged in the recent years.

The Ghirardeli logo in this exploration of design and identity was derived from the Ghiradelli sign at Ghiradelli square,Fishermans's Wharf. The design aims to extract it's old-world charm and simplify it a less ornate finish. The harmonization of soild and drawn lines to symbolize the refined yet inviting spirit of Ghirardelli.
